Sexual harassment has always been a hot topic in society and has been discussed repeatedly from incidents in Hollywood to politics. But, it doesn’t just happen in places of public figures, sexual harassment has been a problem in the cosplay community as well.
Conventions. Every nerd’s favorite thing to go to each year. It’s where we can express our love and passion for all of the movies, shows, anime, video games, whatever we are obsessed with without being judged for it. These places are even where our wallets practically cry out in pain from all the spending we do on the things that we “Must have” even though we really don’t, but it makes us happy to have it anyways.

Nerd. Geek. These two words have been thrown around for years. Usually, these two words are used to mock or flat out insult and bring down those who are just merely passionate about the things that they love. Whether it be cosplay, musical theater, writing, photography, video games, or anything else for that matter.
Ever wondered how it would be like if you could dress in your cosplay and act out scenes from your favorite anime or make stories to different audios? And it would be as simple as using your phone to do it, no YouTube needed? Well for a few years now, there has been an app created where you can do exactly that. Granted, at first, it was named Musicaly, but now several hundred—no thousand people know it as Tik Tok.
Every part of the cosplay helps tell a story. From the clothing of the cosplay–be it made from armor or fabric to the various props a cosplayer is no doubt seen wielding.
All of these parts work in complete harmony. But there is one more element that not many people give a hat tip and recognition to…The makeup part of cosplay!
