What the Bleep Am I Doing?! Rebel’s Mini Guide To: Making Emblems

Hey everyone, welcome to this week’s article of What the Bleep Am I Doing?! Rebel’s Mini-Guide to… This time, since I am getting further on my armor project, I thought it would be cool to show y’all how to make your own emblems. Like the one, I am putting dead center on my breastplate. So, let’s get started, shall we?

First off we’ll wanna start with making the center item of the emblem. What I did is use a leaf mold, but you can use whatever mold you want since you can make the emblem whatever you want. I just chose the leaf because my armor is going to be based on Leafeon. But I digress. Then, to fill the mold you can honestly use anything you want. From polymer clay, to even cosplay clay. I personally chose to use liquid polymer clay because I wanted to try out new material and I really liked the effect it created once baked and solidified.

And of course, before you glue it to anything, you’re going to wanna create the base of it. Or if you want to leave it as is, that works well too. What I did for the base was create a simple half oval silicon mold and well, made the object with resin. Then just to protect it I wrapped it in Worbla. And last but not least paint it the color you want and glue it together. Pretty simple yea?

Well, that’s all for this mini What the Bleep Am I Doing?! I hope this article provided some good insight into how I made the emblem in case you guys want to try it for yourselves. And if you have any questions feel free to ask! Or if you want to show what you’ve made I’d love to see it!

That’s all for now…
